Here's some good news, everyone: Tony Labrusca and JC Alcantara's "Hello, Stranger" movie is set to begin filming this November!
The exciting news came from Tony, during his exclusive interview with Star Cinema last October 7.
The 25-year-old actor first thanked the supporters of the show. He said, "Sa mga nakaabang sa movie namin, and sa lahat ng mga supporters namin, ang mga XavMi stans, thank you so much to everybody who supported 'Hello, Stranger.'"
"Hello, Stranger" is a boys love (BL) series produced by ABS-CBN Films' Black Sheep, which premiered in June. Directed by Petersen Vargas, the show was a hit online.
Last August 16, Black Sheep confirmed that the eight-episode series will have a movie sequel.
Tony played the character of Xavier opposite JC's Mico.
Tony remarked, "Hindi ko talaga inakala na maging ganun siya ka-successful."
When asked for updates, Tony gladly shared that production will begin in November.
"Tumawag na 'yung production, bini-brief na nila ako tungkol sa protocols, kasi magla-lock in taping din kami doon. So, super excited na ako, we're gonna shoot in November," he said. "Shooting na kami in November, 'wag kayo mag-alala, malapit na."
Under The New Normal, ABS-CBN Films has adhered to safety protocols that require "lock-in" periods — a film's cast and production crew stay quarantined in the same area for weeks while filming. This is done to minimize the risk of transmission.
