This Week on ‘We Rise Together’: Phi and Jairus for ‘Boyette,’ Gab on working with Jameson and Joao + more!

It was all about life lessons, theatre, and music on this week’s episodes of “We Rise Together!”

The week started out with “Boyette” stars Jairus Aquino and Phi Palmos as guests on the November 16 episode. Jairus and Phi play friends of Boyette in the coming of age movie, which is led by Zaijian Jaranilla.

When asked what their takeaways were after filming the movie, the two shared some nuggets of wisdom about life and acceptance.

“Sometimes, we tend to overlook ‘yung mga kabataan na parang konti lang ang ginagawa sa buhay. Pero in this movie, mare-realize natin na we need time for our families, we need time for ourselves, we need time for our friends. Isa 'yun sa naging struggles ni Boyette doon sa movie,” Jairus said.

“Si Boyette, tanggap siya ng pamilya niya kung ano 'yung pagkatao niya. Pero noong lumabas siya sa mundo outside his family, parang doon nawala 'yung pagtanggap at kailangan niyang itago muli ang sarili niya sa pag-iisip na magugustuhan lang siya kapag kapareho siya ng ibang tao," Phi said.

"‘Yung pagiging ikaw, you are enough. No one should make you feel adequate. Ang pagiging ikaw ay sapat na,” he added.

One of the stars of the Boys Love (BL) film “My Lockdown Romance” Gab Pangilinan talked about her working experience with the lead stars, Jameson Blake and Joao Constancia.

“Natuwa ako kasi sina Jameson and Joao, I've never seen them in person. But I guess ‘yung important in these kinds of shooting is ‘yung tiwala sa isa't isa na hindi kami magkakilala. Si Jameson and Joao magkaibigan na sila, ‘di ba. Feeling ko ako 'yung medyo hiwalay. I just had to trust them and trust in the team,” Gab said.

For the first time ever, “We Rise Together” welcomed its international guests, the boy band Why Don’t We.

The boys talked about their new single "Fallin'" and how they were able to write it and produce it during the pandemic. They also gave a short message to all their Filipino fans who have been supporting them since day one.

"We've had a couple of shows in the Philippines and I remember the show being extremely loud, which is one of our favorite things as a band. Thank you guys for supporting and we really appreciate it," they said.

As for coming to the Philippines for some tour dates, they said:

"As soon as we can [we'll come.] We're supposedly kind of touring again this year and our schedule is America, Europe, and Asia so we'd probably be over there right around now, which kind of sucks. But I think the silver lining is that during the pandemic we wrote 'Fallin'."
