Director Antoinette Jadaone has nothing but praise for Charlie Dizon's performance in her newest film "Fan Girl"!

"Fan Girl," which stars Charlie as an obsessed supporter of celebrity Paulo Avelino, has been in the making since 2016.

In an Instagram Story yesterday, November 19, Direk Tonet recalled how Charlie's audition went.

"The moment she entered the room — with her kantong lakad, not graceful at all lol — we knew she was it," she said.

"She looked 16 but actually was already in her 20's. She was wearing makeup but we asked her to remove everything — except her eyelashes, hindi raw siya matanggal, kakalagay lang."

Direk Tonet then revealed that Charlie wasn't her first choice for the role.

She shared, "Not many know she was only a replacement actress. Our first fan girl had to beg off because of contract issues. I was down for a few days, thinking the film we were working on since 2016 won't see the light of day."

"I never really subscribed to 'everything happens for a reason' but when April (Charlie) amazed us in her scenes in the film, I already knew why our original plans didn't push through. Totoo nga, everything happens for a reason."

"Proud of this film. Proud of this girl. Congrats April/Charlie! To more films!"

"Fan Girl" will have screenings later today in Tallinn, Estonia as part of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
