The iconic Charo Santos appeared on the latest episode of "Ask Angelica" and shared her wisdom about being a strong, independent woman on top!
On Friday, November 21, Angelica Panganiban, together with her ka-TTs and co-hosts Kean Cipriano and Via Antonio, answered questions from different ladies who shared their troubles. The "Maalaala Mo Kaya" host and ABS-CBN Chief Content Officer gamely chimed in and imparted great advice that will inspire you to be the best woman you can be. 💪
1. To a single mom struggling during the pandemic:
A single mom called the show and shared her worries about her family, now that the world is currently dealing with a global pandemic.
Charo advised, "Dapat hindi tayo mag-give up kasi hindi natin alam kung ano ang ipapadala sa atin ng mundo. But, we have to learn to adapt, adjust. We have to stay strong."
"Maghanap ka ng kaibigan, o ng tao na kakausapin mo at mamahalin ka for the person that you are. Dapat meron kang kaibigan, o magulang, o kapatid na masasandalan. Importante 'yan sa panahon ngayon."
2. To women in their 20s struggling with their career
A 23-year-old Kapamilya career woman shared that she feels stuck in her work, and asked how she should deal with the situation since she still has so many dreams.
Charo reminded her that she was still young and has a lot of time.
She related, "Listen to your heart. 'Yun ang pinaka-importante, masaya ka ginagawa mo. Tapos ang attitude mo [dapat], dahil bata ka pa lang, 'I will learn everything that I could learn as I go through these experiences.'"
"Don't rush, enjoy every minute. Find every lesson. Relax lang, chill. You'll get where you need to be."
3. To those who get their femininity mistaken for weakness
Another netizen called in to ask for advice on what to do when people think she's weak just because she's very feminine.
Mamee Angge said, "Sampalin mo 'yung mga nagsasabing ganoon! Wala kang dapat i-prove sa kanila."
She continued to say that we can always learn things if we really want to. "Makakabuti sa'yo yun kapag mas marami kang mga bagay na natututunan, mas pinapalawak mo yung kakahayan mo bilang babae."
4. To those who are not appreciated for who they are
Another netizen phoned in with a unique problem: "every time na sobrang nagiging malambing ako, nagagalit 'yung boyfriend ko."
Angge, Kean, and Via said that they should work out if there was a deeper problem in the relationship.
Angge added, "Hindi pwedeng lambingan lang all the time. May life sa labas ng relationship. Pwedeng balanse."
Meanwhile, Charo shared something she learned from her father: "Don't depend on any man."
She added, "You have to take care of yourself, and you have to learn how to fend for yourself. 'Yung pagmamahal talaga sa sarili, kailangan buo 'yun eh. That you will not depend on anyone for your happiness."
5. To those who do not get support for their big dreams
A young woman opened up about her boyfriend, who does not support her plans and hopes for the future.
Angge told her, "'Yung growth, sobrang importante 'yan sa isang tao, at kung talagang mahal ka ng taong 'yan, dapat sobra niyang supportive sa kung anong gusto mo o magpapasaya sa'yo."
