Kapamilya actor Tony Labrusca has been carving quite a unique career path in showbiz, as he has been consistently taking on diverse roles in movies and television.
Since the pandemic began in the country, he has been cast in the iWant Original "Love Lockdown," on the Black Sheep boys love series "Hello Stranger," in the horror-thriller "U-Turn," and on the drama series "Bagong Umaga."
During his solo bloggers conference for "U-Turn" last October 27, he was asked about all the interesting projects he has on his roster.
The 25-year-old actor said, "I'm just fortunate to have been able to be offered these projects, and honestly I'm very grateful that these projects are coming my way. I think that's a blessing."
"After reading the scripts of each project, I really liked the material."
Speaking about "Hello, Stranger," Tony said he "was worried it was either gonna be a hit or miss."
He related, "Hindi ko naman alam kung ready na ang Pinas for their own BL na magiging mainstream. I thought it's either maba-bash ako ng malala, or it's gonna work [and] mae-enjoy ng tao. Naisip ko, parang sanay naman na ako sa bashing so try na lang natin tapos bahala na (laughs)."
"Hello, Stranger" went on to become a hit, and will get its own movie sequel.

"Everybody's kind and supportive about it. That one, I can honestly say sobrang special sa akin ang project na 'yan. I'm really grateful for that," he said.
During a previous media huddle, Star Cinema Managing Director Olivia M. Lamasan praised Tony for accepting his role as Xavier on "Hello, Stranger."
Ms. Olivia said, "Saludo ako kay Tony. Sabi ko 'Wow, this guy, malayo ang mararating. Iba 'yung buo 'yung loob [na] I'm an actor and I'll take any role and I'll be challenged by any role.'"
Tony was humbled to hear the statement, and said, "Grabe. Inang, thank you so much. I'm really honored that you would say that. The opinions of our bosses really do mean a lot to me, I do care about what they say. So thank you so much."
"I just had so much fun with 'Hello, Stranger,' honestly. It was a great project, and it was a good character. Xavier was such an endearing character, I couldn't say no to him."
