Ryan Bang helps viral Korean street vendor to fly back to South Korea

Ryan Bang extended a hand to the 76-year-old Korean street vendor who went viral for selling Korean noodles along the streets in Las Pinas City.

On his latest vlog upload last November 15, we saw the comedian-host making a trip to meet the vendor named Jang Sam-Hyun in order to give him a special "gift."

"Nandito po ako ngayon sa Las Piñas City dahil napanood ko po ang isang balita na meron daw dito isang Koreano na 76 years old na nagbebenta ng ramen sa kalsada. Wala daw siyang pamasahe papunta ng Korea,” he said in the vlog.

The gift turned out to be money, which Sam-Hyun can use to purchase a plane ticket to go back home to South Korea.

"Ngayong Pasko, mukhang hindi po ako makakauwi ng Korea dahil may 'Showtime' pa. ‘Yung pang-uwi ko po ng Korea, ibigay natin sa kanya para tulong-tulong. Kung gusto niya talaga makauwi sa Korea, ibibigay ko nalang sa kanya ‘yung ticket ko," Ryan shared.

“This may not be a lot, but I want to give you money so you can go back home. I wanted to help with buying your plane ticket to Korea. I grew up with my grandfather. I remembered my grandpa, and I was in pain when I saw the news. So I hope with this, you can buy your ticket,” he said to Sam-Hyun.

In tears, Sam-Hyun couldn't help but thank Ryan for his good heart.

"Since I started selling ramen, I haven’t seen a Korean buy from me. Not even one. No one came to see me," the vendor said in the video.

"So you are the first. It’s nice to meet you. It’s really nice to meet you. My eyes are welling up. Filipinos come to buy. Filipinos come to help. I haven’t seen any Korean,” he added.

Jang Sam-Hyun has been coming to the Philippines for 20 years now to supervise the construction company he owns. Unfortunately, he was scammed and was actually planning to go back to Korea earlier this year, as he shared in Ryan's vlog. But due to the flight restrictions put in place in the country to stop the spread of the coronavirus, he had been stuck here since March and was forced to sell instant noodles to make a living.
