Kim Chiu, Tony Labrusca, and JM de Guzman are teaming up for the Star Cinema horror flick “U-Turn.”
During the film’s media conference on Wednesday, October 7, Kim shared that this is probably the most "terrifying" project she's done, quite literally.
"Iba ‘to. Kahit ako, nagda-dubbing kami ni Direk. [Sabi ko], ‘Direk, sakit na ng heart ko, labas muna tayo.’ Kahit ako ‘di ko kayang panoorin, matatakutin kasi ako. Iba. If napanood niyo na ‘yung past horror movies ko, ito na, ito na ‘yung rurok," she said.
In this spine-tingling movie, Kim plays Donna Suarez, a journalist who comes across a mysterious case on a particular road. At first, she tries to rule it out as suicide, but then when something eerie happens on the same location, it convinces her to dig deeper into the incident.
Derick, the award-winning director of the blockbuster hit “Clarita,” says "U-Turn" is relatable.
“Medyo relatable siya, at the same time, ‘yung story niya ay napapanahon. Kung ano po ‘yung nangyayari ngayon, real news to fake news. Malaki pong bagay ‘yung message ng pelikula,” he said.
