Sandara Park reveals how a five-year dating ban affected her love life

Sandara Park opened up about her struggles with dating in an interview for the South Korean show "Love Intervention."

In an article published by Soompi last October 7, the former 2ne1 member said that she has been involved in non face-to-face relationships even before the pandemic happened.

“I’ve been in ‘untact’ (non face-to-face contact) relationships even before COVID-19," she admitted.

“When I was a trainee, I was scolded for being in a relationship, and my manager took away my phone. Then after I debuted, there was a five-year dating ban," she explained, referring to YG Entertainment imposing dating bans for idols.

"I really didn’t date because they told me not to," she added.

The actress then took a moment to apologize to her past boyfriends, who faced challenging times dating her on the down low.

“Only recently did I make up my mind to date actively. All I needed was a will to be more assertive. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to my ex-boyfriends who had a hard time then because I didn't see them so much," she jestingly said.

Prior to debuting as an idol in South Korea, it can be recalled that Sandara was involved with fellow “Star Circle Quest” alumnus Joseph Bitangcol.
