Kim Chiu has been tagged as the Millennial Horror Queen, with some even comparing her to Kris Aquino — how does she feel about this?
At the media conference for her upcoming horror flick “U-Turn” yesterday, October 7, the Kapamilya star said that Kris, The Queen of All Media, remains unmatched when it comes to the genre.
“Ate Kris will always be the Ultimate Horror Queen. Siyempre siya talaga ang nag-iisa at walang makakagalaw noon,” Kim said.
On being referred to as this generation’s horror royalty, Kim expressed thanks but took it lightly.
“Meron lang akong millennial (laughs). [Kumbaga] sa ibang barangay ako, ibang distrito,” she joked. “Pero lahat ‘yun, queen. Mas malayo na siya, mas malaki na ‘yung siyudad niya sa siyudad ko.”
She quipped, “Kung walang bayad ang pagiging queen, thank you so much!”
One of her co-stars in the movie, Tony Labrusca, shared that he felt honored working with Kim.
He said, “It was an honor to work with the Millennial Horror Queen. Yung mga ibang horror ni Kim, [napanood ko rin like ‘yung last three years ago] ‘yung ‘The Ghost Bride.’”
Tony added that he is grateful to be given the chance to explore acting opportunities in different genres.
“Super happy ako kasi hindi pa ako nakakapag-horror na ‘yung main antagonist is yung multo talaga. Masaya siya. And masaya din ako na nabibigyan din ako ng chance na makagawa ng iba-ibang genre. Masaya,” he said.
Last night, October 7, the chilling first poster of “U-Turn” was revealed.
Directed by Derick Cabrido, “U-Turn” will have its world premiere this coming October 30. Powered by Cinexpress, you can have access to the film via KTX.ph, iWantTFC, Cignal, or Sky Cable.
