Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has been tapped as an official judge in the Miss Universe-Colombia 2020 pageant.
Today, October 28, the Filipina beauty queen announced the news on her Instagram.
She wrote, “Hola, Colombia! So excited to announce I'll be traveling to Colombia next month for the first time to be an official judge for Miss Universe Colombia 2020, and also to work with @smiletrain as their Global Ambassador. 🌍😁🚂 Stay tuned for updates!”
Also this morning, Catriona went on a virtual interview with Karen Davila on “ANC” to announce her inclusion in the panel.
She said, “I’ve been personally invited by the National Head of Colombia, and also I’m honored to be there, representing the Smile Train.”
Smile Train “is an organization in more than 90 countries around the world who give service and free surgery and comprehensive clinical care to patients suffering from cleft lip and palate.”
Recently, our very own Miss Universe-Philippines pageant was concluded. Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo emerged as the winner.
Asked if she would accept if she was offered a judge’s seat in the Philippine pageant, Catriona said, “I would have been happy to judge.”
“I always feel really excited whenever I get to be in a mentorship position especially for girls that are pursuing the dream of pageantry because of course, I know how it feels,” she said.
“I know the journey that’s involved especially now during this pandemic. I can only imagine how much the girls were stretched financially, resource-wise. I would have loved the opportunity to judge here and hopefully in the coming years, I’ll have that opportunity.”

Rabiya will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant. The runners up were Maria Ysabella "Bella" Ysmael, Michele Gumabao, Pauline Amelinckx, and Kimberly "Billie" Hakenson.
