Philippines' Superstar Nora Aunor is looking back at her wonderful memories with the late director, Al Quinn.

Direk Al is one of the pioneering directors of Philippine television. His work included TV specials such as "Binibining Pilipinas," Star Awards," and more live shows.

"Ako po ay lubos na nalulungkot sa pagpanaw ng isa sa mga magagaling na TV director na si Direk Al Quinn,” Nora said in a story by PUSH yesterday, October 26.

Direk Al was also the director of Nora's television show "Superstar," which first aired in the early '70s.

Alam niya kung papaano niya ako alalayan habang nagso-show. May oras na dumarating ako sa show na malaki ang problema ko at lumalabas lang ako sa opening at ending ng show."

Nora said Direk Al understood her and empathized with her when she was feeling down.

The country's Superstar paid tribute to Direk Al, not only as a colleague but as someone whom she considers "family."

Wala siyang kapaguran.

Masaya man o malungkot. Laging mataas ang rating ng Superstar show ng siya ang aming direktor," she said.

The well-loved director passed away last Saturday, October 24 in Las Vegas, USA. He was 86-years-old.

His passing was confirmed to ABS-CBN News by his son, actor Dino Pastrano.
