We're going to see a different side of Joao Constancia soon in his first-ever role in a Boys Love (BL) movie titled "My Lockdown Romance."
During our exclusive interview with the singer-actor, he opened up about preparing to play his character Kendrick.
"I prepared with Direk Bobby (Bonifacio) 'cause he actually helped me a lot in Kendrick's character - kung ano 'yung personality niya, and luckily, it's somehow similar to me. So, it's easy na lang to connect with Kendrick's character 'cause he's a happy-go-lucky guy and I'm like that also," he explained.
BL is all new for Joao and he admitted that he found it challenging to "connect" with his friend — and for "My Lockdown Romance," his on-screen partner — Jameson Blake, who plays Tom in the movie.
"I had a hard time showing affection towards Jameson's character na si Tom," he admitted. "In-explain naman sa'kin ni Direk na parang dapat best friends kayo, nag-reconnect kayo and everything pero dapat may kilig. And that was one thing I struggled with, but thank God Direk Bobby was so patient and he taught me how to project that."
You can watch his full interview above!
Helmed by "Hellcome Home" and "Hospicio" director Bobby Bonifacio Jr., "My Lockdown Romance" also stars Jameson Blake. It will be released very soon!
