Sharon Cuneta has clarified all the speculations about her retirement following her "on the way to retirement" post over the weekend.
In an Instagram post yesterday, October 12, the Megastar said that she still has commitments to fulfill before her planned retirement.
"Kids, please don’t be sad! I still have a few promises and contracts to fulfill. Just seeing as we don't know yet when this pandemic is leaving or when a vaccine is gonna be discovered, I am preparing for my retirement. I am semi-retired as it is!" she said in the post.
She continued, "I planned to retire after I got married to Kiko at 30, but I've always taken my cues from God. I wed in the middle of shooting 'Madrasta' then so many other things followed, so I knew it wasn't time yet. Don't worry about me -- my parents always prepared me for this! And I've been getting ready to retire for another 2 decades."
Sharon assured her fans that she will not leave them hanging.
"I’m not just gonna instantly disappear! I owe you that much. But please ready yourselves, okay? I love you. God bless you all," she said.
Sharon's imminent retirement made headlines over the weekend when she hinted that "it's almost time."
In the photo she uploaded last October 10, Sharon seemed to be very sad with a text across the photo that read, "Kids, it’s almost time. Mama’s tired. I love you.”
Sharon has been in showbiz for over 40 years. Her last big screen outing was in the 2018 family drama "Three Words to Forever" alongside Richard Gomez and Kathryn Bernardo.
