"Ask Angelica" got real about dating foreigners in its latest episode!
And there's no better person to join our Mamee Angelica Panganiban and her co-hosts Kean Cipriano and Via Antonio than actress Glaiza De Castro, who is currently in a long-distance relationship with Irish boyfriend, David Rainey.
And of course, we took notes from the bits and pieces of advice she gave to netizens about the challenges of dating an AFAM.
1. How to win an AFAM's heart
First thing's first: how can one actually date an AFAM? For Angelica, it's all about connection and making effort.
"Make or break lang talaga siya, eh. Then you'll make an effort kasi gusto mo, eh. Kasi puso mo yung nagsalita doon. Hindi naman dapat 'to yung targetin mo talaga eh AFAM," Angelica said.
Meanwhile, Glaiza believes you have to know what your heart truly wants first.
Kumbaga nakilala mo na 'yung sarili mo, parang everything will follow, eh. Hindi mo na kailangan i-try hard," she said.
2. Why they should learn our native tongue
As someone who has a foreigner partner, Glaiza said that it's a common courtesy for them to adjust by learning our language as well.
So ang nangyari, since andito siya for a long time, nag-adjust din siya," she explained.
3. Which partner should move?
Should you move to the country where your partner lives or do you stay here and ask your partner to move?
Glaiza got real with her answer and opened up about the time David asked her about it.
The two hosts and Glaiza threw the question back to Angelica, asking if she'll be able to give up her career in exchange for settling down with her partner in another country.
"Oo," Angelica straightforwardly answered.
So 'pag nangyari siya, give up lahat. Automatically," she added.
