Joshua, Julia united in friendship amidst viral video controversy: 'We're okay'

Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto finally aired out their side of the story as rumors about how they allegedly ignored each other during a Chinese New Year event last week continue to circulate.

During the “Block Z” bloggers conference bloggers conference yesterday, January 29, the actor kept his explanation regarding the incident, which was caught on video, short yet clear.

He told members of the press that he and Julia are very much in good terms with each other.

“Paikliin ko na lang ‘yung story. That night, okay kami. As in okay kami," Joshua cleared.

"Ang hirap lang na lahat na lang ng galaw naming dalawa may issue, may meaning. Binibigyan nila ng meaning. Pero okay kami. Ako, personally, okay ako sa kanya,” he added.

T

heir fellow “Block Z” cast member Ina Raymundo, who is visible in the video, also defended her co-stars.

“Ako, nandoon ako sa video. And you have to understand na magkasama na sila like 30 minutes before that pa, bago sila makunan ng video na ‘yun,” she explained. “So doon pa lang, nag-’Hi, Hello’ na sila. ‘Yung nakita niyo na ‘yun, magkakasama na kami nang almost one hour. Hindi naman kami nagku-kuwentuhan the whole time na nandoon kami sa isang lugar.”

“Walang awkwardness sa aming lahat,” she added.

Julia, on the other hand, insisted that she and Joshua continue to be good friends.

“'Yung isa sa nakakalungkot talaga is naging maganda ‘yung samahan namin ni Josh when we ended. It was smooth, it was nice, and we remained friends. There were many things that unfortunately happened last year na nadamay lang ‘yung friendship namin.”

“However, people are painting our friendship; hindi ganoon, eh. We’ve always been okay, and he’s always been there for me last year, during all the things that happened. And we have remained the same until this day,” she explained.

The actress then asked everyone to respect her and Joshua’s friendship.

“Stop making a big fuss out of so many things,” Julia said.

“Stop making Joshua and I fight. We’re not fighting. We’re okay, and we’re in good places in our lives. There’s no reason for us to fight. We ended nicely, our friendship is nice, so just respect that.” she pressed.

Julia, Ina, and Joshua are all part of “Block Z” alongside Ian Veneracion, McCoy De Leon, Maris Racal, and Yves Flores. It is now showing in cinemas nationwide!
