According to LA County Fire Department Capt. Tony Imbrenda, they received reports about the crash at around 10 AM.

"Individuals that saw the aircraft said it was coming down at a fairly significant rate of speed and impacted the ground on the hillside," he said.

An investigation is still under way to identify the cause of the crash.

May your soul rest in peace, Kobe.

Kobe made history for his former team Los Angeles Lakers by winning five championships. He was an 18-time All-Star before retiring in 2016.
