FDCP holds conference ahead of Sine Sandaan event

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is now gearing up for the celebration of the centennial year of Philippine cinema.

Just this afternoon, September 6, the FDCP, led by its Chairperson, Liza Diño-Seguerra, together with its partners and sponsors, faced members of the media in a press conference for its upcoming events which will signify the start of festivities for the grand commemoration of the 100th year of the local movie industry.

The event, which is dubbed Sine Sandaan will be held on September 12, is expected to gather and recognize over 300 luminaries who have contributed and have reached milestones in the industry.

According to Liza, the event will be a “one night celebration and a three-hour musical extravaganza.”

“Makikita at magbabalik-tanaw tayo sa nakaraan at sa history po ng ating Philippine cinema,” she added.

The celebration will also coincide with the kick-off of the third Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino which will run from September 13-19.

Last Wednesday, September 4, ABS-CBN, led by its executives, Chief Operating Officer of Broadcast Cory Vidanes and Films Managing Director Olivia Lamasan, also signed an agreement with the FDCP to be the official media partner of the event.
