Award-winning writer Ricky Lee is impressed with Bea Alonzo’s excellent writing abilities!
In an interview with PEP during the press conference of a musical play based on his famous work “Himala” last August 27, the writer talked about his thoughts on the actress, who recently took part in his annual 12-session workshop.
Ricky commended how clear and concise Bea's pitched stories were, as well as her dedication to their weekly activities.
“Si Bea, nitong huli, nag-lunch kami. Ininterview ko siya bago ko siya sinama sa workshop. Nag-pitch siya sa akin ng dalawang storyline niya sa akin. Ang linis-linis, ang linaw-linaw ng kuwento niya,” he recalled.
“So na-impress ako. I wanted her in the workshop. And she’s doing very well in the workshop. May dala-dalawa, tatlo-tatlo na yatang material na tinatrabaho. She attends not only the Sunday session. She also attends the weekday session na smaller group ’yun,” the writer continued.
“Nakita ko na maraming nabibigay na kontribusyon ng mga kagaya nila Bea na hindi nabibigay ng iba. Kasi artista sila, binubuhay nila ’yong character, so may ibang perspective pag dating sa discussion," he continued.
“May kontribusyon ang artista, may kontribusyon ang editor, may kontribusyon ang literary writer, may kontribusyon ang baguhan, may kontribusyon ang datihan," he ended.
Bea is set to star in an upcoming drama film with Richard Gutierrez and Angelica Panganiban, under the direction of Mae Cruz-Alviar.
