THROWBACK: The time Paul Soriano directed Toni Gonzaga’s music video

The year was 2007. Toni Gonzaga was making her mark on the local showbiz industry, while Paul Soriano was starting to make his name in directing.

They may have come from two different worlds, but fate made a way for them to meet.

During that time, the actress was slated to release her third album entitled “Falling For You” under Star Records. Among the tracks included in the said project is the carrier single “Catch Me, I'm Fallin.”

A hit album means a carrier single should catch people’s attention. Cue Direk Paul, who entered the scene when he was tapped to direct the song’s music video.

You could actually say that Toni and Paul’s first collaboration was a success after receiving positive feedback from people. The song was even among those that topped charts that year.

Aside from the song’s success, more blessings came to both of them. That same year, the pair started to write their own love story.

Nearly eight years later, they opened a new chapter in their lives by getting engaged and tying the knot in June 2015.

A year later, they welcomed their first son Severiano Elliott.

Who would have thought that a simple project would lead to romance? Maybe we can say that love indeed moves in mysterious ways, and we should just wait for the perfect time, just like Toni and Paul did.
