#ABSCBNBall2019: Continuing the legacy left by Gina Lopez!

We’ve just seen the biggest gathering of stars during the 2019 ABS-CBN Ball, but the event is more than just glamour.

Last night, September 14, aside from the glamorous outfits and red carpet looks of the country’s brightest stars, ABS-CBN, which is celebrating its 65th year, upheld its commitment and purpose, to be in the service of the Filipino worldwide.

Following last year’s event, which aimed to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Bata 163 Children’s Village, this year, its main beneficiary is the organization’s Bantay Edukasyon initiative, a cause spearheaded by its late chairperson, Gina Lopez.

Jing Castañeda, the current program director of Bantay Bata 163, said the initiative “aims to improve the quality of life of children who are abused, neglected, exploited, and disadvantaged, through increased access to education and empowerment of their families.”

Meanwhile, a tribute was also given to Gina during the Ball for all her hard work in protecting the environment, nurturing children, and fighting for causes close to her heart. She also served as a champion of charity for all Filipinos.

She might have passed on, but we can all say that her legacy will live on forever.
