Blockbuster Director Cathy Garcia-Molina has expressed her gratitude over the success of "Hello, Love, Goodbye."
In an interview with ABS-CBN News yesterday, August 22, Direk Cathy shared that she never expected the film to be so successful, noting the risk that they have taken in pairing Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.
We wished na sana tanggapin, pero hindi namin inaasahan 'yung ganito kalakas na pagtanggap. And 'yun pa lang, wow. 'Yung gamble mo, 'yung risk na ti-nake mo, it's all worth it," she stated.
She also pointed out that people are much more open to new stories and experiments, which is something new to the country's movie industry.
Ngayon, parang mas nakakatuwa kasi pwede ka na pala talagang mag-mix and match. Mas pwede ka nang mag-eksperimento kasi mas open na ang public eh. Mas open na ang audience natin to new things, new combinations, new stories, medyo a little bolder storytelling. So it's a good thing for the industry," she added.
The filmmaker also revealed her plans to visit Hong Kong to personally thank the people who extended their help while making the film.
Nag-uusap-usap, we all wanted to para din mapasalamatan 'yung staff and crew who helped us there…yes, meron, nasa plano pa din," Direk Cathy ended.
"Hello, Love, Goodbye" is topbilled by Kathryn and Alden. It is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
