Following its successful theatrical release in the country, “Eerie” is now making waves on the international scene!
Just last month, Star Cinema’s latest supernatural thriller offering, which premiered in theaters last March, made its way to Netflix and was made available for streaming worldwide.
Since then, the film has received positive reviews and feedback from the international audience who were surely creeped out by its story.
In a Facebook post last Sunday, film director Mikhail Red expressed how thankful he is that his work got an international exposure.
“Thanks to Netflix we now get to share Filipino Horror with the world! ‘Eerie’ is now reaching a global audience!” he wrote,
He also shared testimonials from foreigners who have seen “Eerie” already.
Meanwhile, one of the film’s cast members, Maxene Magalona shared how grateful she is to be a part of the film in an Instagram post on August 18.
“I honestly still can’t believe I got to be part of such an amazing film and work with these incredible people,” she stated.
“And now that the film is getting worldwide recognition, not only does it make me proud to be Filipino, it also makes me proud as a human being to be part of a film that speaks volumes about the importance of simply being kind to others,” Maxene continued.
“Eerie,” which was topbilled by Charo Santos-Concio, Bea Alonzo, Jake Cuenca, and Maxene, premiered during the 29th Singapore International FIlm Festival in November last year.
It also raked in more than ₱200 million in box office sales following its theatrical run.
