When it comes to her career as an actress, Judy Ann Santos has always loved a challenge.
In a report by PEP yesterday, August 11, the actress opened up about her character as a deranged serial killer in "Ang Probinsyano.” For viewers, her character is rather "creepy” but for Judy Ann, it is her most challenging role yet.
"Well, creepy talaga sa simula," she admitted. "Lahat ng challenges nasa role na 'yun. It's something that I haven't done in my 32 years in the industry."
Judy Ann said she wanted to take this opportunity to see how much she can do as an actress.
"At saka parang gusto mo lang ng bago; gusto mo lang din malaman kung hanggang saan mo kayang i-push 'yung talent mo or 'yung skills mo bilang artista," she explained.
"I enjoyed it, though it's so hard," she added.
It is also a chance for her to push viewers to empathize with those who struggle with mental health problems.
"Gusto ko sanang mas mapagtuunan ng pansin na ang mental health issues ay hindi pare-pareho. May iba-iba siyang classification and this is one of them," she said.
"Basically, it's just me saying na 'wag nating i-judge ang mga taong may pinagdadaanan. 'Wag niyo nang dagdagan pa ang mga pinagdadaanan nila."
She continued, "If we could help, if we can support them in whatever support they need, we have to give it to them."
Prior to "Ang Probinsyano," Judy Ann topbilled the 2017 comedy "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes" alongside Angelica Panganiban.
