Bea Alonzo is now a protegee of renowned Filipino writer Ricky Lee.
The actress was among those selected by the award-winning storyteller to participate in his annual workshop, which he has been doing since the 1980s.
Bea and her fellow workshop participants were welcomed by Ricky in a Facebook post that read, “Welcome to my home, heart, life Batch 22 Film Scriptwriting Workshoppers!”
In an interview posted by ABS-CBN News yesterday, July 8, Ricky talked about how he decided to include Bea in his annual class.
“We met for lunch with her handler. Nag-pitch siya sa sa akin ng storyline niya. I was impressed. May malinaw siyang grasp of characterization and had a fine sense of details. So, she became a part of the workshop,” he said.
Aside from the actress, other participants for this batch included broadcast journalist Chiara Zambrano, Candy Pangilinan, and Fifth Solomon.
Bea’s latest big screen outing was in the blockbuster horror flick “Eerie.” It also starred Charo Santos and was helmed by “Block Z” director Mikhail Red.
