As the daughter of the legendary Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Frankie Pangilinan had quite a different childhood from the rest of us.
In an interview with Metro.Style published last June 28, the 18-year old revealed that she felt a lot of pressure growing up under the glare of the showbiz spotlight.
“Sometimes, I’d reflect on my childhood, everyone was kind of paying attention in a weird way,” she shared, "I think I kind of feel a lot of pressure because I have to live up to these names that people know and there’s a certain degree of expectation that I feel sometimes I’m not able to meet.”
In spite of this, or perhaps because of this, Frankie has always stayed true to herself and her own dreams.
She explained, “I believe in myself, my capability, and if it’s what I truly believe in, I have to stand by it because that’s my integrity. I can’t give that away to anyone because that’s all I am.”
“I guess being born to my parents, it’s not something I asked for but it’s something I’ll always be grateful for,” she added.
Frankie recently graduated from high school and will be moving to New York to pursue studies in literature and anthropology.
It is also her love for writing and singing that led her to release her own songs entitled "Battle Scars" and "Selfish."
Continue reaching for your dreams, Frankie!
