Yeng Constantino has issued an apology over a vlog that drew mixed reactions from netizens.
In a Facebook post yesterday, July 22, the singer expressed her sincerest apologies after posting a vlog where she recounted her “traumatic” experiences when her husband, Victor “Yan” Asuncion, suffered from injuries while cliff diving in Siargao. She slammed local medical personnel in the vlog and aired out her “disappointment” in social media posts.
“Regarding the Siargao incident, ‘yung mga recent posts ko was brought about by my high emotions dahil sa nangyari sa aking asawa, whose life at that time I thought was in grave danger. Pagkatapos kong kausapin ang mga taong malapit sa akin, I realized I should have been more responsible in my posts,” she wrote.
“I would like to apologize to Dr. Esterlina Tan and the other medical staff for the hurt that my posts and vlog have caused them. Whatever concerns I had should have been coursed through the proper forum. It was unfair to call her out on social media and I’m taking down the posts and the vlog immediately,” Yeng continued.
She further extended her apologies to all medical professionals who may have been hurt by her actions, saying, “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt I caused her at sa lahat ng mga medical professionals who were affected by my posts. There is no excuse. I will do my best to be more responsible next time.”
The couple was on vacation in Siargao when the incident occurred. Yan sustained minor injuries and suffered from memory loss, but CT scan results showed no hemorrhage nor any other significant damage on Yam.
Yeng first rose to fame after winning the inaugural season of “Pinoy Dream Academy.” She currently serves as a judge in the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime.
