There’s no other way to say it—shooting a film is HARD WORK and “Hello, Love, Goodbye” was no different.
The upcoming Star Cinema film starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards was shot almost entirely in Hong Kong. And in the second episode of Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina’s online show “CGMagic”, she talked all about the journey and adjustments they had to do to make everything work. And the challenges they encountered were no match for their team!
Here are some of the tricky elements that made their filming a unique and rewarding experience.
1. Different locations
They had to film in various locations in Hong Kong so it was quite a challenge to set everything up. But we are sure that it’s worth it! We are looking forward to seeing the beautiful shots of the country in “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”

2. Weather
The weather was a bit unpredictable but nothing too difficult that that team can’t handle. Sunny mornings eventually turn into rainy afternoons but it all added to the authenticity of the movie.
Alden even quipped in the episode, “The weather here is very bipolar. Just like emotions, right?”
Umm? You’re the cutest, Alden. <3

3. Crowd control
Direk Cathy shared that a lot of our kababayans in Hong Kong flocked the set and the production staff struggled a bit to keep them off the frame.
“I know there were some who got mad at us because we didn’t allow them to have a photo with our celebrities or to watch the shooting. But I hope they understand that we’re shooting ‘real life.’ I cannot show a film with so many onlookers, right?” Direk Cathy shared, adding an apology to our kababayans who didn’t get a chance to take a photo with the stars.
