Kathryn Bernardo once again bagged another Best Actress win, this time from the Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards for Movies, also known as The Eddys.
The actress, who unfortunately wasn't able to attend the awards ceremony last July 14, was honored for her outstanding performance as Georgina "George" Silva in the 2018 worldwide hit "The Hows of Us." She took to Instagram today, July 15, to share her inspiring speech.
"As I type this, I am out of words. I honestly can't even begin to express how grateful I am for this Best Actress award," she began, "I am incredibly honored and deeply thankful to the Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards for Movies (The Eddys) for granting 'The Hows of Us' another unexpected win. Maraming, maraming salamat po! ❤️"
"I personally believe that trophies do not make an actress. It’s also not about the sales or how much a movie has earned," she wrote.
"It's about the many hearts that you're able to touch through your films. It's about making a fictional character come to life and having other people see themselves in her as well. It's about the literal sweat, blood, and tears that you pour into your role."
She continued, "I feel validated as an actress not because of this trophy, but because of what it symbolizes: people lining up in the cinemas to see the film we've worked so hard on, being able to touch so many hearts through it, and the continuous support and recognition that we've been receiving since. Your endless love and support made everything worthwhile. ❤️"
Kathryn ended her speech by putting the spotlight on her "The Hows of Us" character, George. She enthused, "Salamat din sa'yo, George, for making this possible!"
Congratulations, Kathryn! Your Star Cinema family is very proud of you! ❤️
Kathryn also recently won the Best Actress award at the 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies last month.
She will star in the upcoming Cathy Garcia-Molina film "Hello, Love, Goodbye" alongside Alden Richards. It will hit theaters this July 31!
