Best Adventure Spot in Hong Kong, according to Kathryn and Alden!

For the longest time, Hong Kong had been a frequent tourist place Filipinos. It has also become a land of job opportunities for those who want to provide a better future for their families back home. Cathy Garcia-Molina’s upcoming film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” explores those realities, and serves as a backbone to Joy and Ethan’s story.

At the Travel Madness Expo 2019 last Saturday, July 6, the stars of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” — Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards visited the Hong Kong Tourism Board booth and opened up about their experience filming in the country.

Kathryn said, “Makikita mo na kahit saan ka magpunta, may Pinoy. Mostly, ang tumulong sa amin doon mga Pinoy din po.”

HELLO, JOY AND ETHAN!

Joy and Ethan are two strangers who met in Hong Kong. They are people with different dreams whose lives became intertwined.

Sharing more about her character, Kathryn said, “Si Joy, isa siyang domestic helper sa Hong Kong. Ako ‘yung magre-represent ng mga OFWs natin, kung gaano kahirap. I have so much respect sa ating mga OFWs. Hindi madali ‘yung pinagdadaanan nila doon. Trabaho lang siya nang trabaho.”

Alden, on the other hand, shared, “Si Ethan naman po will represent ‘yung mga kababayan nating Pinoy na naging resident na ng Hong Kong. Si Ethan is a bartender. Medyo cocky, medyo happy-go-lucky, walang direksyon, kumbaga ano lang siya, seize the moment.”

He added, “Sabi nga [minsan], minsan talaga, kagaya nga noong sabi doon sa trailer [namin], may mga taong darating na magbabago sa buhay natin eh. Nagpapatigil sa buhay natin.”  change your life, who will make your world stop.]

Kathryn and Alden went to a lot of different tourist places and tried a lot of different activities in Hong Kong as part of their filming. When asked which spots have their seal of approval, they both answered Lion Rock! The two also agreed that Hong Kong’s great outdoors are breathtaking and that checking out the hiking trails are well worth it.

“Sa mga hindi pa nakakapunta, we encourage you to try. Hindi kailangan professional hiker ka para pumunta ka,” Kathryn enthused.
