Yes, you read that right: Jolina Magdangal will be starring in an upcoming episode of Asia’s longest running drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
On Instagram, the actress gave a sneak peek of her script for the episode, which will be directed by Ruel S. Bayani and Topel Lee. This "MMK" episode will mark Jolina's return to acting after her years-long focus on hosting the morning show "Magandang Buhay."
“Ang tagal ko hindi ginawa ito. Thank you so much sa @mmkofficial sa magandang storya at magaling na direktor. Na-miss ko ito sobra. 😊 Abangan. 😊 (Direk @topellee namiss kita!),” she captioned.
The drama anthology, which is celebrating its 28th anniversary, last featured Jolina on its “Apron” episode which aired in 2000. She also starred in three earlier episodes, including “Karayom,” “Mangga,” and “Gitara,” all of which were shown between 1996 and 1998.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Jolina will do a reunion project with her former leading man, Marvin Agustin. Dan Villagas and Antoinette Jadaone have been attached to the film.
The actress currently hosts “Magandang Buhay,” with Karla Estrada and Melai Cantiveros. She also served as a judge in the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of noontime variety show “It’s Showtime,” and was a regular performer in “ASAP Natin ‘To.”
Her last movie project with Star Cinema was the 2002 film "Kung Ikaw Ay Isang Panaginip."
