Actress Rica Peralejo has welcomed her second child with Joseph Bonifacio!
On Instagram, the former actress openly shared her experiences as she gave birth to her second son, revealing that she needed to endure 25 hours of labor. For her, it was a miracle that she had a normal delivery since she gave birth to her first son via cesarean section in her own home.
"And so after 25 hours, this boy is finally out. I cannot wait to tell you all our birth story. Let me just say that it was a miracle to actually do homebirth, VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarian), and to remain completely unmedicated all throughout the labor. So many times I wanted to quit...but somehow strength came to my bones and body. Oh, I really cannot wait to share it all with you!" she wrote.
She also addressed the questions raised by her fans over her birth plan. She explained that it was her intention to undergo labor at home in order to avoid medications that may trigger risks and side effects.
Aside from the regular pregnancy check-ups with her doctor, the actress said that she hired a midwife who monitored her vital stats and her baby's heartbeat.
Rica, who married her husband in 2010, gave birth to their first son in 2014. She suffered two miscarriages in 2016.
The actress appeared in a number of Star Cinema movies including "Caregiver" in 2008 and "Paano Na Kaya" in 2010.
Congratulations on the birth of your new baby, Rica!
