Vickie Rushton will not let other people stop her from dreaming.
That's what the well-loved Binibining Pilipinas 2019 candidate learned from the pageant after becoming a controversial figure due to her “stuttering” at the question and answer portion.
On the July 18 episode of "Tonight With Boy Abunda", Vickie finally spoke in detail about how she got “distracted” during the Coronation Night.
"Siyempre po 'pag nag-answer ako ng question, nakatingin ako [sa nagtanong]. Parang may nakita ako na biglang tumayo at nag-make face sa akin. [Sabi,] 'Wala, wala!' Parang na-stop ako doon, nakuha lang attention ko. Hindi ko naman siya kilala," she revealed.
Vickie then humbly admitted that she was at fault and no one else's.
"Sabi ko nga, sana hindi ako na-distract. Dapat focused ako sa self ko. Wala rin po akong bineblame but myself,” she insisted.
The King of Talk then gave Vickie a chance to answer the question as she would have if she did not get distracted during the Q and A.
"Mental health is as important as physical health because it goes hand in hand for our inner being. Growing up, I was bullied, and it affected my mental and physical health. And as a woman who has been through a lot, I can use it to empower and inspire the people, and remind them that self-love is important to us to be productive," she said.
Vickie then drew applause from the audience; even Tito Boy was left in awe!
"Wow. That could've been powerful," he enthused.
Good luck on all of your future endeavors, Vickie! ❤
