Joshua Garcia made his dream of becoming a military man come true, all thanks to an upcoming episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
Joshua posted a photo of himself wearing military uniform in an Instagram update last June 17. In the caption, “My dream job for three days. Congrats to me! 🙂 #MMKMedalofValor.”
The young actor is set to portray the role of Ian Paquit, a soldier of the Philippine Army who was the youngest recipient of the Medal of Valor. He died during the military’s encounter against members of the Moro National Liberation Front in Zamboanga City in 2013 and is widely considered a hero.
On “Kapamilya Chat” yesterday, June 17, Joshua revealed that he encountered quite a few challenges while filming the episode, including filming a scene where he needed to lie down motionless inside a coffin.
The actor will also be joined by veteran actress Janice de Belen and fellow “Pinoy Big Brother” alum Aljon Ocampo, in his first acting role ever, in the episode.
Joshua’s latest big screen outing was in the romantic comedy “I Love You, Hater.” He is part of Mikhail Red’s much-anticipated upcoming thriller “Block Z.”
Aljon, on the other hand, will star in the upcoming television series "SanDugo" alongside Elisse Joson, Ejay Falcon, and Aljur Abrenica.
