Following the withdrawal of Liza Soberano as Darna, acclaimed director Jerrold Tarog is still on the hunt for the perfect actress fit for the role.
In a recent report by PUSH, Direk Jerrold told the press how he's having a hard time working on the movie following Liza’s exit from the project after a finger injury. But for him, the actress' health should be prioritized more than anything else.
"I did many things to the story to make sure na nagfi-fit doon sa personality ni Liza, but siyempre mas importante talaga ang kalusugan niya. So tanggap ko naman,” he said.
Jerrold shared that he's still in the process of doing the auditions, but admitted that he already has a list of actresses in mind.
“Sa akin ang mas importante, marunong siyang umarte. Mas acting ability ang hinahanap ko. At ‘yung charm and presence niya sa script,” he said.
He furthered that he wants the next Darna to be as close to Liza as possible.
“‘Coming-of-age story siya which means bata ‘yung Narda. So nearly nasa 20s siya, the same with Liza,” he shared.
