Angel Locsin is heartbroken for Liza Soberano.
The former “Darna” superstar, who had passed on the torch to the young actress back in 2017, spoke to ABS-CBN News about Liza’s recent exit from the upcoming Jerrold Tarog reboot following a finger injury that required her to undergo two corrective surgeries.
Angel suffered the same fate back in 2016, when a spine injury hindered her from physical training and prompted her to go on a short showbiz hiatus.
“Kung meron man sigurong taong nakakaintindi sa pinagdadaanan niya ngayon, siguro mas ako ‘yun. Sana okay lang siya,” she told MJ Felipe for “TV Patrol” last night, April 5.
Angel had reached out to Liza, and even received an apology from the “Alone/Together” star. Right now though, Angel is all about keeping hope alive.
She explained, “Hindi kasi ‘to ‘yung katapusan ng lahat. Alam nating marami pang mangyayari [kay Liza], sana hindi niya hayaang ma-define siya ng injury niya.”
Angel also had a message for all her fans prompting her to take on the superheroine once again.
“Sa totoo lang, of course masaya ako sa pagmamahal na binibigay nila, maraming salamat po sa pagmamahal, pero no.”
Angel leads the cast of the hit action series “The General’s Daughter.” She last appeared in the 2016 romantic comedy “The Third Party.”
