There are plenty of upsides having legendary athlete Manny Pacquiao as your father, but for aspiring boxer Jimuel Pacquiao, it’s the ultimate privilege.
In his young, still amateur career, Jimuel has yet to see an opponent he couldn’t match or defeat all thanks to his passion for the sport and not to mention, the support he gets from his father. In videos shared by his mom Jinkee earlier this month, we see the young boxer being trained by Manny himself, and it’s like we’re seeing double.
According to Jinkee, they’ve been hesitant to allow their eldest to pursue boxing, but have since accepted that it will bring their son happiness. She wrote, “Oh, Lord, Your Will be done in my son's life! I know he can do all things through You who strengthens him. 🙏❤️ To God be all the glory!”
If you want to see a little preview of what Pacman Jr. can do, ABS-CBN Sports’ Dyan Castillejo took to Twitter to share videos from his school’s boxing event last April 17, where he competed against schoolmate Lucas Carson. His girlfriend, actress Heaven Peralejo, was present, nervous, and acted as his personal cheerleader.
Jimuel, as expected, won that fight by a mile. It’s safe to say we can’t wait to see more from this young boxer. And if he does decide to move forward with a career in professional boxing, well, we might just have another Manny in our midst!
