There are only a few more weeks before "Between Maybes" hits the theaters, so while we're waiting, let's look at some of the behind-the-scenes happenings from the Black Sheep-produced movie.
In the "Behind Takes" video released earlier in the week, the film's lead stars Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto talked about their experience on doing the film, especially since it's their first time working together.
Julia, who plays an actress who got "lost" in showbiz, said that it's really a good opportunity for her to improve her craft.
"I didn't hesitate to accept the role even without Joshua (Garcia) being part of it because I saw it as an opportunity to really grow as an actress," she said.
Gerald, on the other hand, described the film as "cute" with a slap of reality.
"Sobrang cute siya kasi 'yung mga scenes na medyo nakakatawa, may layering siya na masakit pero hindi overdramatic - totoong buhay talaga," he said.
According to the film's director Jason Paul Laxamana, "Between Maybes" is "visually unique" since the aesthetics of the film is based on Japanese concepts.
"'Yung mga set namin and 'yung production design, we didn't really strive for the glossy. We wanted a set na may flaw, may gasgas, 'yung mukha siyang luma,"
He added, "'Di kami natakot sa negative space. We adopted the minimalism of Japanese art na hindi natatakot sa negative spaces."
The "Between Maybes" team also practiced minimalism in real life - the staff was only composed of 22 people, including Gerald and Julia!
"Sari-sariling buhat ng gamit. You'd see na kahit si Gerald nagbubuhat siya ng tripod. Si Julia, mga makeup kits. 'Yung mga gamit ng production, tulong-tulong kami," Nailan Garalde, the film's associate producer revealed.
"Between Maybes" also gave a lot of "firsts" for its lead stars: A much-needed break for Julia and a dream come true for Gerald.
"Dream ko siya talaga. I always wanted to, ang dami kasi lagi namin 'pag nagshu-shooting, I wanna experience 'yung mas intimate, 'yung nagtutulungan lahat because teamwork makes the dream work," Gerald related.
Seeing herself in Hazel, Julia shared, "Being in the movie gave me the peace I really needed at the time. Siguro timely lang na 'yung pagkadating ng film sa'kin because I was almost going through the same thing as her at the same time."
She added, "You kinda need to get lost to find yourself maybe."
