Darren Espanto's former road manager Carmencita "Karen" Pelayo-Hernandez was found murdered in Pampanga last Monday, April 8.

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Karen and her friend Karwin Guevarra suffered head trauma and multiple stab wounds. A woman who has been identified as Regine, allegedly a friend to Karen and Karwin, was found "playing dead" in the crime scene and is now the primary suspect of the killing.

Upon hearing the news of his RM's tragic death, Darren Espant took to Instagram to share his grief. He wrote, "I still couldn’t believe the news of your passing, Ate Karen. Sobra kasing masakit. Napakabuti mong tao."

He continued, "You were more than a road manager to me. You are family to us. You will forever be my 'Ate Karen'."

Dingdong Dantes, Jason Dy, and Klarisse De Guzman were among the artists who extended their condolences.
