Jayda Avanzado found a hero in her friend Darren Espanto.
Last month, "The Hows of Us" actor took to Twitter to defend Jayda from the hate she has been receiving on social media for allegedly copying another artist's style.
"Please RESPECT JAYDA and STOP THE HATE," Darren tweeted.
Jayda's father singer-songwriter Dingdong Avanzado replied to him saying, "Thank you for being a true friend to Jayda Your actions really show what you are really made of. Your parents raised you well. You have set a good example for others especially your generation to emulate."
Jayda addressed the issue in a report by PEP yesterday, March 31, saying how thankful she is of Darren for defending her.
"I'm very appreciative and I'm very thankful to have a friend like Darren," she said.
She furthered, "And I'm just thankful for the love and support that I've been getting from everybody else."
Jayda also added that it's impossible to not be compared to other artists - it's up to her to maintain a positive attitude and keep working hard.
"I think it's something that I was kind of aware that it comes with it when you step into the business. But I think, you know, to a certain extent, you have to get used to it," she said.
When asked how she handles these remarks, Jayda said, "If it's constructive criticism, I try to use it to better myself as a person and as an artist."
