Cristine Reyes is an independent single mother.
In an interview with PEP published last March 6, the "Seven Sundays" actress spoke out about her financial situation with ex-husband Ali Khatibi and revealed that she receives no spousal support from him, and shoulders most of her expenses as well as those of their daughter Amarah.
She said, "Ever since naman po, ako lang talaga nagwu-work for myself. I can really say that I'm self-made ever since I started working 15 years [ago], 2003. I also helped my family. Nobody really helps me financially."
First reports that Cristine and Ali's marriage was on the rocks started back in January 2018, and have persisted since. She unfollowed her husband on Instagram last May and in October, she dropped his last name on Instagram. They have yet to make a formal, public statement about the state of their relationship. However, Cristine's sister Ara Mina sort of already did.
In an interview with PEP last February, Ara revealed that her sister is in the process of moving on. She said, "Well, hindi naman ganun kadaling maka-recover. It will take a while. Parang ako, kailangan ko pang akyatin ang bundok bago maka-move on.”

According to Ara, her sister and Ali are now attempting, successfully, to co-parent.
Cristine starred alongside the legendary Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, and Enrique Gil in Cathy Garcia-Molina's 2017 blockbuster family drama, "Seven Sundays".
