Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are true lovers of all things Japan, from the culture to the sights to its people. It’s no wonder they were named by the Japan National Tourism Organization as their new ambassadors — they’re the perfect fit!
In an upcoming outtakes video from the “KathNiel Loves Japan” tour coming out soon, Daniel revealed that he’s celebrated New Year in the country for four years. Kathryn explained, “All of our friends know how much we love Japan. We feel like we might've been Japanese in another life.”
She continued, “When we were chosen by them as their new ambassadors, we said yes immediately because we really, really want to promote Japan. Japan is sort of like our ideal country. We're very happy.”
KathNiel has visited Japan more than twice in the last six months. The couple, together with their respective families, celebrated the 2018 holidays with a skiing trip in Niseko before traveling to Tokyo to ring in 2019.
In January, they returned to the country for their familiarization tour and visited beautiful Hokkaido and historic Hiroshima. You can learn more about their travels in the two-part webisodes covering the whole tour here:

Kathryn and Daniel topbilled the worldwide Cathy Garcia-Molina blockbuster hit "The Hows of Us" in 2018. That same year, Kathryn joined forces with Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez for the family drama "Three Words to Forever".
Daniel has been tapped for a new project with legendary actress Charo Santos-Concio, according to a teaser from ABS-CBN Films Executive Adviser for Cinema Malou N. Santos.
