Urbandub frontman Gabby Alipe on Mico Palanca’s untimely death: ‘Wish I could’ve done more’

The world continues to grieve the loss of Mico Palanca.

The actor, whose untimely death at the age of 41 last December 9, came as a surprise to many of us. His legacy continues on through his family and friends, some of whom have penned heartfelt messages for him on social media.

Urbandub frontman Gabby Alipe, Mico’s sister Erika Hocson’s partner, wrote, “You’re the first one to accept me into the family. I will always remember our daily coffee [and] yosi talks about MMA, boxing, and basketball, even about life in general.”

He continued, “Wish I could’ve done more for you brother. Will always be grateful that you were such a great Tito for your nephew, taking the time to always play games with Jacob whenever he asked you. We love you bro. Rest easy now, Kuya Miko.”

Mico’s good friend Reg Ricardo also reminisced about how the actor was a huge influence on him as a kid. He recalled, “I'm speechless, bro, when I heard the news. A lot of people don't know how much impact you made on my childhood days. I still remember our Pasadena to Benitez days.”

“You are one of the reasons why i learned how to smoke and always wanted to have long hair. Sad we never got the chance to hang out again ever since i moved to south in ‘99. You will never be forgotten! RIP 🙏,” he added.

The Hocsons, including his sister Erika and brother Martin, also honored their brothers’ memory.

May your soul rest in peace, Mico.

Mico last appeared in the 2006 romantic film "All About Love."

He also made a special appearance in the morning drama series "Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit" early this year.
