We may know her as Basha from "One More Chance" and Bobbie from "Four Sisters and Wedding," but Bea Alonzo in real-life is actually just as strong and iconic as the characters she portrays.
The "Unbreakable" actress, alongside the other legendary actors of today, were featured on Metro Magazine’s 30th anniversary issue, and we got to know her like never before as she opened up about the new era she is about to enter.
In her digital cover interview released yesterday, November 30, Bea spoke about how she has grown as an actress—taking one challenging role after another, in an effort to discover herself.
"Taking on challenging roles makes me feel alive. It's not difficult, but it makes me happy," she admitted. "I'm thankful because I feel like it's forming my character. It has helped me discover who I am as a woman."
"Para siyang love—kailangan may spark. I don't know what it is that would draw me to a script or a role, it's just that I know if it's going to work or not. I have to at least believe in what [my character] is going through or what her principles are," she added.
In fact, it was her love and dedication for her career that paved the way for her to be hailed as one of Asia's best and brightest actresses by International Film Festival and Awards Macao and Variety.

But more than the accolades she has earned from her roles, it is the mark she leaves to the people who have watched her films that Bea values the most.
“[I'm proud that] I was able to do the roles that I did that left a mark, the roles that I've done that have resonated with people," she enthused.
