We all have our own ways of moving on, and for Bea Alonzo, it's all about acknowledging the pain.
On "Tonight With Boy Abunda" yesterday, November 26, the "Unbreakable" actress opened up about the current state of her heart, and even shared some wise nuggets of advice on how you too could cope with your own heartbreak.
Here, we listed down everything we learned from Bea that we can all apply to our lives when we inevitably experience heartbreak:
If you've been following Bea on Instagram, you'll notice that she uses the hashtag #OneDayAtATime in some of her posts. According to Bea, it helps her to be constantly reminded to take everything gently and slowly.
2. Regain control of your life
After a major relationship, there is a tendency for us to feel as though we’ve lost who we are. According to Bea, you can begin to regain your lost self through time and healing, and in time, you can learn to love again — yourself and another person.
"Kapag galing ka sa isang breakup, hindi mo lang binabaon 'yung relasyon ninyong dalawa, pero binabaon mo that version of yourself who loved purely at nagmahal nang walang kapalit and somehow, gusto mo buhayin 'yun through your healing," she said.
She continued, "Gusto mo hanapin sa sarili mo kung paano ka magtitiwala ulit at magmamahal nang buong-buo na walang pag-aalinlangan. So siguro 'pag naabot mo ulit yung pagkakataon na ‘yun, that's the only time you can fall in love again."
3. Forgive yourself, then forgive the person who hurt you
Bea revealed during the interview that for her, forgiveness is hard and it takes a lot of time and effort.
"Kahit hindi hingiin, I have to [forgive]. Forgiving yourself and forgiving someone is freeing all the baggage that you have gone through and just moving forward," she shared.
We all wish to be as strong as you, Bea!
