11 Mae Cruz-Alviar films you need to watch right now

There is nothing a good movie can't fix, and we're pretty sure director Mae Cruz-Alviar has at least one film you can resort to when life gives you lemons. 

One of the finest directors today, Direk Mae has helmed a total of 11 movies before taking a short break from directing. Now, she is set to make her comeback in the upcoming film "Unbreakable" starring none other than Angelica Panganiban and Bea Alonzo, plus Richard Gutierrez.

So before this much-awaited movie premieres in cinemas this November 27, let's all look back at every movie she’s made that you absolutely need to watch:

1. "Bcuz of U" (2004)

A trio of romantic tales, "Bcuz Of U" will leave you lessons on how fate will challenge love and how one decision can make or break it.

2. "Babe, I Love You" (2010)

If you shipped Anne Curtis and Sam Milby from way, way back, you can relive the kilig in this movie, which tackles how love often prevails in spite of life’s challenges. 

3. "Catch Me, I'm In Love" (2011)

Love knows no status in life in this Gerald Anderson and Sarah Geronimo movie. Their first project together as a team-up, it will give you a good dose of kilig. 

4. "Every Breath U Take" (2012)

If you're the type who believes in signs, this Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban movie is the perfect movie for you. In the end, you'll realize that once love hits, there’s no sign that can help you to stop it.

5. "24/7 In Love" (2012)

A story of 14 different people in one movie, we're sure that you can find at least one character you can relate to! Plus, your favorite Kapamilya stars in one movie? We're sold!

6. "She's The One" (2013)

This iconic Bea Alonzo, Dingdong Dantes, and Enrique Gil movie gave birth to the famous "Girl in the Rain" scene, and even paved way to the birth of LizQuen! 

7. "Bride For Rent" (2014)

If you're feeling blue and in need of a good laugh, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim's "Bride For Rent" will give you a large dose of laughter. Kim as Xian's pseudo-wife? You're in for a riot!

8. "Past Tense" (2014)

“Past Tense” proved that KimXi could go toe-to-toe with Ai-Ai Delas Alas in comedy as they served laughs in a movie that will impart some very important lessons about life.

9. "Crazy Beautiful You" (2015)

Those who have unresolved issues with their parents could very much related to Jackie (Kathryn Bernardo) in this movie. But with the help of a stranger-turned-friend, which in this movie took the form of the very handsome Kiko (Daniel Padilla), you'll realize sooner or later that holding grudges doesn't do any good to you.

10. "Everyday I Love You" (2015)

Will you choose the man of your dreams or will you pick the man who makes your dreams come true? This Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil movie will make you feel and learn how to weigh your feelings for someone you're unsure of.

11. "Can't Help Falling In Love" (2017)

Direk Mae reunited with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in this rom-com that gave us a light yet valuable message about choosing your lifetime partner before saying "yes." It will also teach you to learn how to fight for yourself, even in the face of love.
