Everyone is excited about Regine Velasquez’ big screen comeback, even the Asia’s Songbird herself!
During the Grand Media Launch for the 15th Cinema One Originals Short Film Festival last week, October 22, the singer expressed happiness over her upcoming movie “Yours Truly, Shirley” which is an official entry to the festival.
“I’m just very happy to be here, na mapabilang na mapabilang sa magagaling nating artista dito.”
When asked if she would be vying for an acting award, the singer simply said, “Wala akong expectations.”
“Kung ihahambing mo naman ang role ko sa role ni Miss Cherie Gil parang kinanta niya 'yung 'What Kind of Full Am I' tapos ako kinanta ko 'Urong Sulong.' Ganoon ang basehan,” she continued.
Meanwhile, when asked about her experience while doing the film, the singer shared that she enjoyed the entire process.
“First day pa lang, na-enjoy ko na ulit ‘yung buong proseso ng paggawa ng pelikula. The entire two weeks for me was very enjoyable, and I’m happy na nagawa ko siya, naexperience ko siya.”
The film, which is written by Nigel Santos, presents the story of a 50-year-old widow who is thinking that her deceased husband has been reincarnated into a young famous pop star.
This year’s Cinema One Originals Film Festival, which is themed “I Am Original, Kaya Mo?,” will run from November 7 until 17.
