For the first time ever, James Reid opened up about how he has struggled with depression.
On "Tonight With Boy Abunda" yesterday, October 28, the actor talked about how he almost left showbiz during the height of his depression. According to James, it all happened before he and Nadine got together.
“At that time, I was so affected by people telling me how to be and what to do with my life," he admitted. "It's serious enough for me wanting to just drop everything and say goodbye."
James revealed that his romantic relationship with Nadine after taking a solo trip to Japan to take a break.
"With her, I didn’t have to pretend to be anyone. I could just be myself completely," he shared. "No one understood me the way that she did. In the end, she became the one I wanted to please."
"She definitely helped me through the darkest time of my life, and I’ve been there for her for hers.”
James, who has now well and happy, could proudly say that he's at his best phase of his life.
"I’m more open now. I’m probably in the best time of my life,” he said.
James starred in a number of Star Cinema movies in the past including "Talk Back and You're Dead" and "Para Sa Hopeless Romantic." He will also star in the upcoming television series "Soulmate" with Nancy McDonie of the K-Pop girl group Momoland.
