Kathryn, recognized as TV Queen at the 2019 Star Awards for TV!

Kathryn Bernardo has been recognized as a TV Queen at the Turn of the Millennium by the Philippine Movie Press Club!

Just yesterday, October 13, the organization held the 33rd edition of the annual Star Awards for Television which aims to honor the best programs, people, and entities in the local broadcasting industry. For this year, the actress was hailed as one of the industry’s TV Queens.

In her acceptance speech, Kathryn expressed how “overwhelming” it has been to accept the title.

She said, “This is so overwhelming. ‘Di ko rin mo inexpect ‘yung mga nangyayari ngayon. Maraming salamat, PMPC, for this recognition. It’s such an honor na makasama ko itong mga veteran actresses na pinapanood ko simula bata pa lang ako. It’s such an honor, being the youngest onstage now.

“Aside from the movies that we do, TV series or mas kilala natin as teleseryes, malaking bagay siya sa aming mga artista, not just as an actor but as a person. Kasi whenever we do the teleseryes, usually isang taon ‘yan. So may nabi-build ka na pamilya sa set.”

“Hindi madali ang trabaho namin, pero nagpapasalamat kami sa mga tao na tumutulong sa amin para mapadali iyon,” the actress continued.

Before ending her speech, Kathryn revealed that she wants to continue to inspire people through her craft.

“I hope na this award may remind us na napakasuwerte namin na merong ganitong platform as celebrity, as artista, and sana mas magamit namin ‘yun to inspire more people by telling different kinds of stories through our teleseryes and movies, and we inspire the youth to be better persons,” she ended.

Kathryn’s last teleserye project was the horror-fantasy drama television series “La Luna Sangre,” which aired from 2017 until 2018.

She is slated to star in an upcoming teleserye alongside her boyfriend and on-screen partner Daniel Padilla next year.

The actress has also led two of the country’s highest-grossing films, “The Hows of Us” in 2018 and “Hello, Love, Goodbye” in 2019.

Congratulations, Kathryn!
