Your favorite Kapamilya singers were among those recognized during the 2019 Awit Awards!
Last Thursday, October 10, artists from the local music scene gathered for the awarding ceremonies which were held in Cubao, Quezon City, organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.
Kapamilya singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre was the big winner at the event, bagging six awards, including Music Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Most Streamed Single for “Tagpuan,” Album of the Year and Most Streamed Album for “Malaya,” and Best Collaboration for “Knots” with Nieman.
Sarah Geronimo was awarded Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist and Best Song Written for Movie/TV/Stage Play for “Isa Pang Araw,” and Favorite Female Artist.
JK Labajo, who was a product of “The Voice Kids,” won Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist, Best Rock/Alternative Recording, and Favorite Song & Favorite Record, all for his hit single “Buwan.” He was also given the Favorite Male Artist award.
Other Kapamilyas awarded were Jayda for her single “Happy For You” as Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist, Jaya for her song "Hanggang Dito Na Lang" for Best Ballad Recording, Sam Concepcion for his track "Sarung Banggi" for Best Dance Recording, and Jona, Jay-R and REQ for “Take It To Forever” as Best R&B Recording.
Special awardees also include Maris Racal as the Favorite New Female Artist and Favorite Music Video for “Sugarol,” and the TNT Boys for Favorite Group & Favorite New Group.
