The head of ABS-CBN Film Archives and Restoration Leo Katigbak presented the new set of digitally restored and remastered films yesterday, September 18, at the Santolan Town Plaza.
Jerry Lopez Sineneng's "Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang", Olivia Lamasan's "Sana Maulit Muli", Cathy Garcia-Molina's "One More Chance", Romy Suzara's "Sa Init ng Apoy" are among the 10 films to be screened from September 19 to 25, as part of the Sagip Pelikula Film Restoration Project of ABS-CBN.
Meanwhile, veteran actress Lorna Tolentino, who topbilled "Sa Init ng Apoy" opposite her late husband Rudy Fernandez, graced the premiere with enthusiasm. "Maganda [ang film restoration] lalo na kung tumatak sa'yo 'yung pelikula," she related in an interview last night, September 18. "Masarap na nandiyan siya (restored classics), para kahit wala ka na, pwede pa ring balikan. Katulad ng 'Sa Init ng Apoy,' si Daboy (Rudy Fernandez), alam ko na isa ito sa mga paborito niyang pelikula na pinagsamahan namin."
"Sa Init ng Apoy", a horror-drama movie released in 1980, revolves around a young married couple played by Lorna and Rudy, whose honeymoon is disturbed by an evil spirit played by the late George Estregan.
Its director Romy Suzara is also the man behind three other Star Cinema movies: "Sarah...Ang Munting Prinsesa" starring Camille Prats, "Cedie" starring Tom Taus, and "Kokey" starring "Exes Baggage's" Carlo Aquino.
